As far as self esteem goes, I think we should take charge. There are always people around who are ever ready to put you down. But whether they bring you down is your choice. Stay above them.
Situations in your working environment may change. You may get a boss or colleague who may make you feel inadequate. Use that as an opportunity to learn new things to show these people what you are capable of.
